Online Casino Management Courses

The International Gaming Institute's online gaming management courses provide the utmost in professional development training. Enjoy the stimulation of interacting with fellow students from throughout the world as you brainstorm and share gaming philosophies, methods, and practices with other gaming industry professionals.

Each online course semester is eight weeks in duration, is instructor lead and paced, and is available to you to access 24 hours a day 7 days a week - barring unforeseen technical difficulties. Expect to devote a minimum of 8 hours per week on your course. Weekly class discussions participation and quizzes, a midterm, and a final are standard course assessments.

For all online courses you will need a reliable computer a sound card with speakers; an Internet Service Provider with high-speed connection; proficiency in working in a web-based environment (opening links, using browser buttons, accessing video and audio files, scrolling, downloading plug-ins, etc.); using email; and opening, modifying, and saving files.

Casino Auditing II

This course is designed for casino audit professionals, regulatory agency staff, tribal auditors, chief financial officers, and CPAs. Topics include analysis of casino financials, slots and table games - inside the numbers, casino marketing - designing effective marketing programs, slot clubs and rewards programs, auditing and the information technology function, auditing food and beverage, auditing credit, and suspicious activity reporting requirements.  Casino Auditing Level 1 is a pre-requisite for taking Casino Auditing Level 2.

Instructor:

Toni Repetti, who has over 19 years of gaming experience in all areas of operations and 16 years in Finance and Accounting, has held positions with various levels of responsibility in finance from Analyst to Corporate Director of Finance for numerous properties. Her experience includes working with Las Vegas Strip properties, Midwest casinos, and tribal gaming properties, in areas of budgeting, strategic planning, analysis, property acquisitions, financial reporting, compliance, system implementation, training, and audit. Toni is also an Assistant Professor for finance, accounting and gaming courses in the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She received a Ph.D. in Hotel Administration with a major in finance and a minor in gaming at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  She received a Masters of Business Administration from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is also a certified managerial accountant (CMA) and a certified hospitality educator (CHE).

Introduction to Casino Management

This course is designed to identify, contrast, and compare basic casino department management procedures. At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to implement and apply the basic procedures of managing a casino within a resort setting. Students will examine and discuss the relationship between the casino department and other departments in a hotel/casino environment. Course content will focus on game selection, controls, layouts, gaming development and customer service.

Instructor:

Peter Eghoian, possesses over twenty-five years of combined Table Games and Slot Operations experience. He has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout his tenure, during which he was actively involved with performance analysis, project management, property acquisition, budgeting, strategic planning, hiring, department training, property training, and cultural development.

Practical Casino Math for Industry Executives

This class is designed for industry professionals who want to understand and apply some basic math to their operational knowledge. You will learn how to calculate statistical advantage for the most popular casino games. More importantly, we will take that foundation and give you tools and suggestions to apply it to your operation in order to increase margins and give you a comfort level with unusual situations. Game management, spread, mix, volatility and slot floor mangement are just a few of the topics that this class will cover. Instructor:

Joe Wilcock spent 25+ years working in industry at properties such as Caesars Palace, Caesars Tahoe, The Sands, Dunes and Golden Nugget, opening The Mirage in 1989. As the VP of Table Games, he designed, staffed and opened Treasure Island in 1993. He was hired as the Senior VP of Casino Operations at MGM Grand and opened The Mansion Casino while in that position. During his career, he taught casino management classes at UNLV and introduced the first ever casino internship in Las Vegas at The Mirage in 1991. He was the first casino executive to use roulette and baccarat displays and roulette chipping machines in the United States. He also introduced genuine London-style Single Zero Roulette to Las Vegas.
